To introduce a UK audience to Kimbra we created a splash page with attention focussed on her 3 latest videos, a link to buy the EP and her forthcoming tour dates.

Kate Brighouse designed the page and I put all the html together to make bring it to life. The design included hands holding each of the videos, which would have caused numerouse issues for embedded content. Instead of embedding the videos I used Fancybox to open each of them in a lightbox. I added some badic css hover effects to the containers so they’d display a play button when the user’s mouse enters the frame.

We only wanted UK fans to see the splash page so I put together a geolocation script using the maxmind database.

I sent the files over to the Warner Bros US team who run the Kimbra website and worked with their developers to get the location script working within their system.
