At the end of 2012 Benny Banks released a new mix tape featuring 15 songs.

To launch the campaign Benny wanted fans to design the packshot. I set-up a Tumblr theme using the great Photo Board theme by Ben Delaney and modified it to emphasize user submissions. I made a few style modifications, to display the contributor’s name and a link to the high res version of the artwork.

When the widget was ready to be released I built a custom Soundcloud widget to play the tracks. I created three display options for a download link.

If the widget is embedded on any blogs or websites it will allow users to stream the mix tape alongside a button linking to a tab on Benny’s Facebook page. The tab is a like-gate so only fans can retrieve the full download, although the tracks are always available to stream.

The mix tape launch went incredibly well with Alessandro Moro securing solid support from the urban blogs.
