Stooshe Gifting Campaign

Stooshe’s fanbase is very young, which presented us with a challenge during the week of release. Digital album sales usually require a credit card so young kids can’t always download the music they want.
Sam Stubbings came up with a plan to encourage gifting with a system allowing fans to tell their parents or friends that they want the album.
In a few hours I put together a very simple form where fans can enter their name and gender before sharing a personalised link.
Due to the fast turn-around time I used AddThis to power all the sharing functionality. I wrote a jQuery function so that when users add their info it automatically updates the url and title of the content being shared. The personalisation is key to this campaign.
I added the widget to a Facebook tab and splash page on the group’s website where it successfully helped fans spread the word about their wishlist item.
